It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

Hi One and All

Yes - stand well back Dickie has germs........... I'd like to think that this is an adequate excuse for checking in with you so late in the week, but while the "Man Flue" has contibuted, the main reason is that I've had computer things to sort.

Life can be complicated sometimes, and I'm a lazy soul, so when my USB Ports went pop on me last year I simply Emailed files to and from my Laptop, depending upon what I needed to do. But there came a time when the old Hard Drive on the main machine became so full that it needed relieving. And so this week I got around to the surgery to put the matter right.

I can report that both machine and my temper appear to be surviving quite nicely - thank you.

And there's not much to report this week - keen folks will have already checked out the News Blog, but, just in case, you cn check it out HERE

The Mashers have added a couple of new dates and you can find them HERE - it's the same place as The Blog!! The drugs must be getting to me.

We would like to draw your attention to another new page on Acoustic Rotherham. This one features a new EP from someone we discovered through Facebook earlier this year.

John McCullagh was once a proud son of the fine South Yorkshire City, Doncaster, and he now resides out in the sunshine of Australia, where he has lived (I think there is an English problem there) with his good Wife and son for two years.

What caught The Mashers eyes was a video of John sat on his Australian porch playing his guitar and singing a song called "Dance On Your Grave Mrs Thatcher", with a title like that how could we not be interested.

With a bit of a push, (not much of one as it happens) John took himself off to a studio and recorded eight of his songs - some of them politically right on. We think that you will like to listen to his songs and find out more about this Yorkshireman stuck in Australia.

GO HERE to hear extract of his EP and HERE to see John's videoes.

Those who have not checked out the great acts we have joining us at The Transport Club, Rotherham for Flat Cap Folk, can do so HERE

And of course the rumours and News and Gigs around South Yorkshire can be picked up HERE

That's it my friends -

Just a warning we might be late again next week.

Richard
