Rant - iTunes and It Was Madness

It Was Madness may be out now but it's been a long time coming. I thought it would be almost instant puting my song on the biggest internet platform for music in the world. In short it took over a month. If you've never uploaded to iTunes let me tell you it really is very straightforward but you need to do it a month in advance of your intended release. Also you don't upload directly to iTunes. I used a company called Tunecore so maybe it's not iTunes that causes the delay maybe it is.

Either way it doesn't seem right in this day and age of instant service instant, coffee and instant messaging that anyone should need to wait for their music to be available on iTunes.

The next issue is that once the song is uploaded they give you a date that it will be available about a month in the future "or before" that's what it says! In my case it said "Your song will be available on the 9th of November or before"!!!! So you don't exactly know when it will be available. It's not a problem I suppose if you're prepared so now you know. Forewarned is fore-armed. If anyone knows a quicker way of doing it please let me know.

Anyway, that's my rant over.

I hope you enjoy your iTunes experience when you venture there. I'm sure it'll worth it. I've still to find out if my song will go into the commercial radio Big Top 40 chart, which is powered by iTunes (only iTunes bought songs are counted. It Was Madness (the incinerator protest song) was available for the first day today so here's hoping.
