It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

Blog is a stupid word. Makes no sense. At least here in Finland, it's not even translated here. It's just a "blog". Blog?

Anyway, just writing something.

This apartment is really limiting everything. Of course I'm one of those who stay up late, or just stay up all night and mornings too. Can't really play anything, and I'm sick of headphones. When I'm awake at day, it still feels...uncomfortable. There's always that "neighbours are gonna hear this"-feeling and I can't really let loose. I really need a place where I can record songs properly, and just play and sing as loud as I want whenever it's night or day. Right now I don't even feel like just playing for fun, it always has to be recording some demo of a song.

Grandma's (R.I.P.) old cabin is mostly empty, so I could probably get a key there and drag these guitars, mics, cables, pre-amps, amps and my tracker there. No distraction, just an empty old house and me, that's what I need. I could just play and sing however and whenever I want. Perhaps, by an accident, I could actually learn to play guitar too. I'll see what I can do.

There are a couple of songs that are almost finished to the point where I just got to write the lyrics down and practice them a bit. A few other ideas too, need to record them. Just starting to get over this 3/4-thing I've been stuck for a while, and I feel it's time for something new again.

It's been frustrating, you know, the whole recording process. My equipment is of a modest sort and my recording skills too. There's always too much static noise, or peaking. I've read just about anything of how I should do things, and tried 322342 different arrangements, but NO. Recording really feels like some sort of science. Then again, I know that I can't get anything sound like it's been recorded in a studio, but....I feel I could do better.

I know, I like to whine a lot. It makes me happy!
