Well, it's been a long drive of some Thirteen hours back from Spratton Folk Festival, where we had great fun, and especially bumping into people we only have ever seen online. It's good to smell you all again, he he he...
We've had precious little sleep, Maria even less than me, since I've been dozing off in the back of a car most of the day (10 of 13 hours back of car, and the last 3 in cramped front with beagles (usually Brain-Dead, the youngest of the 3) sniffing at my ear and threatening to…

Well I'm just getting the last things done in preparation for travelling down to Spratton Festival for the 2nd Spratton Gathering. I'm harrassed but incredibly excited, so looking forward to meeting all the lovely AFC people, some old friends and some new. For this reason, The Gatherings are always wonderful events, no matter the weather, venue or country. The camaraderie and sharing is the real magic of a Gathering.
It's probably costing me at least £400 and 4 days travelling to drop off my 5 d…

There has been a change of venue for the AFC Highland Gathering. I had talks with the owner and management of the Riverview at Mundole. They also own the Silver Sands Camping & Leisure Complex at Lossiemouth and we decided that it would be the best venue for this size of event. They regularly stage entertainments there, also it's much bigger, so we'll be running 2 stages at either end of the complex, (much better considering we have 20 acts) and has loads of family-friendly facilities and la…

I tried to post this on the Cleveland Gatherings page, but the site is being a butt, so it's going here instead.
We are definitely booked for the Phantasy Niteclub/The Symposium, a sort of 2-in-1 venue. The manager of the place watched Gather 'Round the Mic, and told me that he's very interested in hosting us this year! I'm almost certain that he will give us both stages, which will be really great because there will be plenty of room and time for all those who are participating. See…

Awww what can you say about Dol,
Is she not just the most fantastic discovery you are ever likely to make?
Where to start, well I've known of Dolores music since... well since I joined *cough myspace many moons ago now and I've always known she was something special since my very first listen.
However the more you devle into her impressive back catalogue, the more you realise how truly special she really is. She is an inspired song writer who captivates with deeply personal and emotional song…

Holy cow...and just 3 days until everyone converges on my back yard! Some folks will be camping and arriving on Thursday afternoon/evening, others will be driving or flying in and staying at hotels. I will be making an airport run to pick up two; I need to find out what airline they're using and what time they'll tentatively arrive so I can get there about half an hour early (just to find a parking spot! ha ha).
My house is undergoing renovation in three rooms, so of course everything is all to…
