We've added a new song "Under a pale blue sky" which has been described as "the best Charlies track of the modern era..perhaps the best Charlies track of all." by kind and generous critics. Hope you enjoy it.

It Was Madness may be out now but it's been a long time coming. I thought it would be almost instant puting my song on the biggest internet platform for music in the world. In short it took over a month. If you've never uploaded to iTunes let me tell you it really is very straightforward but you need to do it a month in advance of your intended release. Also you don't upload directly to iTunes. I used a company called Tunecore so maybe it's not iTunes that causes the delay maybe it is.

for those that dont know the Occasional Orchestra project kick started when Darrell and I had the opportunity to contribute a track to a CD to raise funds for life and living charity and the CD was to be a collection of cover versions of songs by Kevin Coyne.
Typically contrary we chose a song Kevin didnt actually write - a white spiritual that was on his first album for Virgin, Marjory Razorblade ,and also a song he would, later in life, close his gigs with - Lonesome Valley.
Its now on our Jap…

I have just finished recording my latest song "Sense of Freedom".
You can listen to the song by clicking
here.
I started writing this song the first time I went to the Isle of Barra in 2007. I remember walking along Tangasdale beach one day and the chorus just came to me. So I jotted it down and hoped to keep writing but nothing else came of it.
When I got back to my work after my holiday, I was bored and fed up of getting back int…

Played Partick Folk Club in St Peters Hall, Chancellor Street, Glasgow on friday night.
By far the best gig of our busy year....mainly because of the audience...I play folk clubs so seldom these days, that I forget the pleasure of an audience that wants to be entertained and actually listens. You really know if youre playing well...not just the hit and miss of barroom gigs...
Thanks to Mick West and his committee for all the work they put in each month...
The soup was fantastic!!

I been working on several collaborations with Mike Lynn doing some vocals on some of his songs. Just recentty uploaded a song called
Trails of Despair written and arranged by Mike Lynn. He put together all the instrumentation with lyrics by Kimberly. He actually arranged a band version and a acoustic version. The acoustic version is posted here.

After this weekends gig with a 10 piece male voice chorus joining us on Boating Lake, and Yasmin adding her vocals to Yellow Moon and King Roger, here's a reminder of Novembers gigs starting with a small memory jog for Saturday October 31st and a return to Chalfont St Giles Memorial Hall in Buckinghamshire where we'll be playing alongside some of our good musical buddies including Clive Product, The Unfortunate Bongo 5, The Kings of the Wild Front Ear and Occasionally David.
It all kicks off at…

Hi All
An interesting week for the Mashers making for what I hope might be an interesting and thought provoking News Blog for this week.
All the artists at Acoustic Rotherham 5 stood tall and proud in their vocal support for the very late change in venue for the event, which was forced upon us because our normal venue allowed a BNP meeting in the pub. The full story is in the Blog, read it and be frightened!!
I want to thank all those who have sent messages of support to me over the past few…

The songs on this page have been remixed as the vocals were too low in the mix.
I have also added our version of THE ROLLING STONES "SATISFACTION ( I Can't Get No )".
Thanks.

First Tiger, Dumb Instrument, Andrea Marini and Jim Dead live at The Liquid Ship, Glasgow
Three cups of coffee and two bars of tablet mean that sitting still and watching television is unlikely to occur tonight. Need to walk off all that hyperactivity but, baby, it's cold outside. Another plan occurs to me. It must be a good one as it involves beer and music. Time to visit the Free Candy Sessions featuring First Tiger, Dumb Instrument, Andrea Marini and Jim Dead.
Jim Dead? Hell of a good name…

This show was one of the most fun things we've gotten up to in a long time. Don't forget to tune in on Thursday to hear advance tracks from Trevor's upcoming album along with some in studio live performances and a special collaborative Marty/Dagenais song! This is a show that is not to be missed and hopefully the chatroom will be hopping too!

Fantastic night in Moniaive last saturday...Wing and a Prayer supported Wizz Jones at the Craigdarroch Hotel...and brought along a friend to join in - John Renbourn. He played several superb tunes and songs...and then sat up with us till 4.30 am telling stories while Jim and I jammed...
Wizz of course was wonderful too...
Great to see two performers still full of energy and enthusiasm for the music...who made Jim and I seem like young lads!
