It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

Should I close discussions that have "wrapped up" e.g. Green Grow the Rashes or just leave the things alone?

They can then be viewed, but no longer active for new posts. And they will dwindle in reporting order as new posts arrive.

What think ye?

Well, I'm glad you didn't close it before I had the chance to post the re-mix, but I guess that sort of brings it to a natural conclusion. Maybe you could ask the people posting them to let us know when they are happy with their discussions, etc. then close them?

Does it take up space on anyone's server to leave them open or anything?

Derek.

Well I haven't closed any.. the original idea was to ask participants to limit the number of active discussions to one song per musician. Hasn't been enforced. :)

I want to close some of discussions on my songs that have petered out, because I am wanting to add another song to the discussion. And I think I need to be consistent.

So I thought I'd ask the question - why bother? It's a bit of a question searching for an answer.

Its probably not a bad idea to close down a discussion as soon as an artist has posted their next one - as in the rules it says something like "dont post a new one until the old one is finished"

If the artist then wants to put the new mix up and say thanks or whatever to anyone who's participated, they can ask you to temporarily open it up again to do that

Just my 2 cents
