It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

This is a song that some say goes back as far as the 1870s, and has been done by loads of artists over the decades, including Leadbelly. It's also the first song that we've done with a real drummer! (Thanks, BTE!!) Reviews/comments gratefully received.

Black girl, black girl, don't lie to me,
Where did you sleep last night?
In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines,
I shivered the whole night long

My father was a railroad man
Killed a mile and a half from town
His head was found 'neath the driver's wheel,
His body has never been found

The longest train I ever saw
Was 100 coaches long
And the only boy I ever loved
Is on that train and gone

Black girl, black girl, don't you lie to me
Where did you sleep last night?
In the pines, in the pines, where the sun never shines
I shivered the whole night long

Wow!! Love it. Don't forget Nirvana did a cover of this as well.

Your vocals really spook this one out.

The drums sound so much better then the canned stuff.

I love the way you sing this song girl.

And the electric fills.

It's really an amazing arrangement of a really cool story.

Fun. Thanks. :)

Love this spooky version.
I play this song live sometimes. My version is a bit more Leadbelly/Nirvana.
I really love this version though.
It is the darkest version that I've heard.
Nothing needs changed about this.
Full marks. Excellent!
