It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

Hi guys & happy new year. I've not posted anything on the review group before, so I'm not sure I'm doing it right. The song is the first on my player.

My song is a very sad one about a marriage split, the husband went to his wife in floods of tears telling her that he was leaving & had met someone else.

This song is her reaction.

Hi Tim, thanks for listening. I'm interested to know in what way it feels unfinished? The reason I ask is that I was going to make this song a bigger production with bass, drums, bv's etc. I decided to keep it sparse (5 tracks) in an attempt to create an intimate feel, more kind of one on one with the listener.

Hi Stu ,
i feel the acoustic needs to be 'fatter' and on a par with the voice , which would
stop the electric guitar being a bit too forward . The Orchestration / strings etc are sweet
but again need to be fatter ( & wrapped around the track ) and deeper in tone.

Once you reach a final mix , run the whole thing through a dark Hall Reverb
without much top / high mid eq so that it adds an ethereal feel to the production
without being very obvious .. almost subliminal , but allows the track to hang in the 'space'
if that makes any sense to you ?

Thanks, I see where you're coming from. I'll give it a go over the weekend as no doubt my wife will be watching football.
