This was recorded during a rehearsal on 29-08-2009.
It was the first time we ran through the song as a band. It all just fell into place. It's great when that happens.
Jay - acoustic guitar / vocals.
Mark Dalziel - electric guitar.
Thomas Marsden - lap steel.
Gary Grochla - bass guitar / backing vocals.
Roy Hunter - drums.

Forgot to say that it was only recorded with one mic. It was recorded for the band to listen back to for rehersals. Not meant to be crystal clear quality.

It's a great mix for only one mic and it shows how good the band is. You guys are tight.

Lovely song I especially like the build up at the beginning of the chorus then it neatly falls back into place.

I would *love* to hear that recording! :)

I'll try to think of something useful mr. slumdog. This song is lovely, very nicely done, good balance.

In a song like this, the drummer is likely to feel pretty cramped in a live setting because they can't really let go - which is almost impossible live unless there is a pretty dramatic sound system in place. . . or if they're alone in a soundproof room.

The drummer can often experiment more dynamically when recording versus live. And you can fix the dynamics in the mix, if necessary. Can't wait to hear that version also. :)
