AFcollective Artist Network

It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

Hi All

The Challenges seemed to die a bit of an early death, but I loved the idea of them and the ones we did were fantastic

My idea for a new challenge is for everyone to write and record a song that is less than 60 seconds long!

Can you do it? Its harder than it first sounds

Deadline of the end of April, attach the files to this thread or send them to toorare2die@hotmail.co.uk

I'll set up all the ones we get and use them as a radio show for AFC (Or part of one, depending how many we get)

Ok.......go!

Cheers Dave - literally just in time!

Right, thats it, challenge over. I've recorded the show, now I just gotta upload it to FF and let Rick play it as and when he see's fit

Once its been aired I'll cut the section out thats the challenge tracks and attach it to this thread as a kind of podcast

I hope someone else starts another challenge soon, coz I think they're great and while I have more in mind, they shouldnt become my property, or anyones, so I'll wait until a couple more have been done by others before I try one again

Thanks everyone for getting involved - its made for a good bit of learning and a great show for the AFC Radio!

Actually Lew you seem to have some great ideas for these challenges. This one minute song one was fantastic. I genuinely enjoyed all of the songs i heard and I'm looking forward to hearing the full show.

I say if you have ideas for new challenges then get them out there. Don't worry about these challenges becoming your "property" - and so what if they did become a series of "Lew's Challenges". That's kind of a cool idea don't you think? It could become a feature of the AFC. The only issue as far as I see it is if you feel under unwanted pressure to put these things together as a show.

So maybe the next challenge should be to come up with a jingle for "LEW'S CHALLENGES". That's a joke btw.

Cheers man

I dont feel any unwanted pressure to do them as a show, thats nice for the most part (though I will admit that because of the short tracks nature of this show the sheer volume of songs meant it was more of an arse to put together than I'd normally like to do)

I will do another one for June if no one else does, but for the month of May its anyones game. As I said before, I want others to at least have the opportunity to do their own, even if it does become mainly me driving it forward

Thanks for saying I have good ideas, but they are finite, so the more heads the more good ideas there will be and the longer this sort of thing could continue

I've been away for a bit of a while, and forgot all about the One minute Song Show. I guess it was broadcast long ago. Is there an archive somewhere - I'd love to hear it.
