It's Bringing music back to the grassroots

I decided to learn one of the songs that was number 1 on my birthday, which is Joe Dolces Shaddap Your Face, which was number 1 in Australia on the day of my birth

This led me to think we could make a challenge of this

Who fancies recording a cover of a song that was number 1 on your day of birth? We'll make a bit of a radio show of the people who send them in and have a bit of a laugh

Here's a website where you can find out the number 1's of your birthday from UK, US and Australia to help you out

http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/birthdayno1

You dont have to stick to those countries though, any country will be fine, just when you send your track through tell me which country it was number 1 in and your birthday

End date to send tracks through will be my birthday, the 5th of Dec

My USA birthday song is EC's version of I shot the sheriff. Mmmmm? Been done to death. Anyway Marleys is better. The Aussie one was one I've never heard of. Can't remember the name of the song but I think the guys name is Steve Wright. Hopefully not the DJ.

I must admit, I'd love to hear it hahaha

Dont worry, the one I've picked was the number 1 in Aus, my UK one was by ABBA, which I left well alone

Check out your others, I couldnt leave people just one choice

Then that just makes it a more interesting challenge - turn something that sucks into something that doesnt suck

I've heard stunning versions of Britney Spears, Abba and Softcell - anything is possible
